2024-MAY-19 STATEMENT: Condemning Hate, Violence, and Vandalism Targeting 2SLGBTQIA+ Communities in London, Ontario
We are heartbroken and outraged by the continued acts of hate, violence, and vandalism targeting 2SLGBTQIA+ communities in London, Ontario.
These attacks are not isolated incidents—they are part of a broader pattern of rising intolerance and bigotry that seek to intimidate, silence, and erase queer and trans people from public life. Let us be clear: Hate has no home here. These actions not only harm individuals and communities, but they undermine the values of equity, safety, and human dignity that our city should stand for.
To every 2SLGBTQIA+ person feeling afraid or unseen—we see you, we stand with you, and we will not back down.
We call on elected officials, institutions, and community leaders to take a firm, public stand against hate in all its forms. We demand real action: stronger protections, public accountability, and sustained support for the communities that are targeted far too often.
London must be a place where everyone—regardless of who they are or who they love—can live openly, safely, and with pride.
In solidarity,
Why We March
